Work to regenerate the former Highbridge cattle market site has begun this week.
59 residential dwellings are to be built on the old cattle market site, which is next to the fire-ravaged Highbridge Hotel, as part of a multi-million pound redevelopment project.
The new homes include 23 three-bedroom homes, 31 two-bedroom homes and five two-bedroom flats.
Construction vehicles have been clearing the site this week, as pictured, as the work gets underway.
One local resident, Sarah Green, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s great to see some action here after so many years waiting.”
