With just a few weeks to go until this year’s Burnham-On-Sea carnival parade, organisers have been given a boost.
Fusion Leisure Centre, based at Burnham’s Home Farm Holiday Park, has donated hundreds of pounds towards the cost of a dozen new advertising signs for the carnival.
Grateful organisers from Burnham Lions Club received the donation from Fusion’s Steve Atkinson, as pictured here.
Steve Atkinson, Director of Fusion Leisure Club, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “After reading a recent news story on Burnham-On-Sea.com about how The Carnival Association is short of funds and looking for support, we contacted them to see if we could help.”
“They informed me that they were looking for new signs. We’ve therefore produced them for the carnivcal, costing close to £1,000. Understanding how many people the carnival brings to the local area, we are only more than happy to help.”
Andrew Bryant of Burnham Lions said: “We are very grateful for this generous donation. The old signs were over 10 years old and showing their age.”
Carnival programmes are also now on sale, priced £1.50, from newsagents and many town centre shops. This year’s carnival is being held on Monday November 9th at 7pm – full details on the link below.
