Search for Burnham-On-Sea’s 2007 Carnival Queen begins

-

The search has begun for a carnival queen and princesses to lead this year’s Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Carnival.

The annual competition to select a queen and two princesses will be held on Friday, September 14th at Unity Farm in Brean, but organisers have this week appealed for nominees to come forward.

“As well as leading the carnival parade, the queen will also present prizes to the winning floats and cheques to local groups benefiting from the carnival,” said Steve Bird of the Burnham-On-Sea Round Table, which organises the annual ceremony to pick the VIPs.

“Entrants for carnival princess must be aged between 7 and 12 and live within six miles of Burnham or Highbridge, while the queen must be 15 older,” he said.

Entry forms can be downloaded on this page of Burnham-On-Sea.com shortly or by dropping in to Abbott and Frost estate agents in College Street.
