The search has got underway this week to find this year’s Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea Carnival Queen.
Entries are now being accepted for contestants, who will take a leading role in this winter’s carnival spectacle.
The competition is open to entrants aged 16 years and over who must live within five miles of either Highbridge or Burnham.
This year’s entry forms – which need to be returned by August 31st – are available by clicking here. The organisers are also searching for Princesses, with the entry form for those roles here.
The winners will be picked at a pageant to be held on Friday 6th September from 7pm at Burnham Holiday Village.
The entrants will be asked to answer questions about their hobbies and interests and show an awareness of the community, plus a knowledge and understanding of the district.
“The Carnival Queen will be chosen as an ambassador for the Carnival as well as the precincts of Highbridge and Burnham. It is hoped that the Carnival Queen will assist with community cohesion projects concerning the area over the reigning year,” one of the organisers, Linda Bullimore, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The pageant evening will include entertainment from the Lucy Gunter Dance School and a Katy Perry tribute.
