(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2017
(HIGHBRIDGE AND BURNHAM ON SEA CARNIVAL)
Notice is hereby given that Somerset County Council made an order in pursuance of the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which was to introduce temporary traffic restrictions as specified in the schedule below.
The Order will be made to facilitate the Highbridge and Burnham on Sea Carnival and is in the interest of public safety.
The Order became effective on the 26th October 2017 and remains in force for a period of eighteen months. This Order shall come into operation from 21:00 hours on 3rd November 2018 and will continue in force until 01:00am on 6th November 2018 (the times the various restrictions will apply are specified in the schedules to this Order).
Nothing in the Order shall apply to:
(a) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes or any vehicle being used in connection with the Highbridge and Burham-on-Sea Carnival with the authority of the Highbridge and Burham-on-Sea Carnival Committee or Avon and Somerset Constabulary.
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer or a Police Community Support Officer
(c) Vehicles falling within regulation 3(1), 3(2), 3(3) and 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011(a) when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations
