Burnham-On-Sea police said there were no reports of any disorder or trouble at last night’s carnival.
Inspector Roger Tolley, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com it was one of Burnham’s quietest carnivals ever for crime.
“It was an absolutely superb evening and there was a good atmosphere. A couple of people were involved in some minor high jinx, but there was no disorder and no arrests were made,” said Inspector Tolley.
“The crowds dispersed quickly at the end of the evening and people went home happy – we were happy to support the community on this busy night.”
The only minor incident was a smashed window at the doctor’s surgery in Love Lane, but he said this could not be attributed to the carnival.
Officers from Burnham, Bridgwater and Taunton mingled with spectators along the route during the evening.
