Burnham-On-Sea card-making group goes from strength to strength

-

Why buy greetings cards when you can make them yourself? That’s the question on the minds of a popular Burnham-On-Sea group which met over the weekend and is proving that the art of card-making is alive and well.

Armed with scissors and glue, Burnham’s Card-Making Group meets every month in the town council chambers at Jaycroft Road where dozens of card designs are created over several hours.

“The meetings are a chane for us to indulge in a whole day’s card making and meet other people who enjoy the same hobby,” says Denise Emery, who oversees the gatherings.

The group is so popular that its numbers are being restricted. “We like to keep it a small, focussed group of about 10 people,” she said. “So anyone who would like to join needs to book a place in advance.”

The group meets on the third Saturday of each month between 10am and 4pm, except April, and a place costs £10 including kit and materials. For more details, call 01278 433 449.
