Card-making enthusiasts in Burnham-On-Sea got out their scissors and glue to raise cash for a good cause on Saturday (August 8th).
A card-making marathon was held at the Town Council Chambers in Jaycroft Road by members of the Burnham Card Crafters group.
Led by Denise Emery, the successful event saw 216 cards being made for sale in St Margaret’s Hospice charity shops across the region.
The hospice’s Sue Medlicott was on hand to thank the group at the end of their day. “It’s been a tremendous effort by the group and we are very grateful for everyone’s work,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
St Margaret’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care, advice, support and respite to patients and their families in Somerset and parts of neighbouring counties.
Burnham Card Crafters meet monthly on the third Saturday of each month (except August) in the Town Council Chambers from 10am-4pm. A charge of £12.50 per day per person is made.
