Burnham-On-Sea firefighters to hold fundraising car wash today

-

Burnham-On-Sea firefighters will be washing cars at their station in the town today (Saturday, September 16th) to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.

They will be among a record number of fire stations across Devon and Somerset taking part in the national car wash.

Bring your car along to the fire station in Marine Drive between 10am and 2pm to have it washed in return for a donation for the charity, which aims to enhance the quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.

Lee Howell, Chief Fire Officer for Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service, said: “Monies raised through national fundraising initiatives provide a real boost to The Fire Fighters Charity.”

“As well as being a fun and popular event the National Car Wash also gives our firefighters the opportunity to share important safety messages with members of their local community.”

“Your valued donations will go towards helping thousands of men, women and children from the fire and rescue community during their times of need.”

The Fire Fighters Charity’s mission is to place beneficiaries at the heart of everything they do, ensuring that the fire and rescue community can rely on The Fire Fighters Charity as its primary point of contact for advice and support.

They aim to provide practical assistance and solutions to make a real difference to the lives of members of the fire service community.
