A fresh warning has been issued to motorists this week about staying clear of mud and soft sand after the latest incident in which a car became stuck on Brean beach.
The Skoda Octavia was driven half a mile down the beach towards the sea when its wheels became stuck in the soft sand and mud, as pictured here.
With a rapidly incoming tide, the beach warden called for the help of a Brean farmer to pull the vehicle free just in time before the tide would have reached it.
“The man inside told us he was driving down the beach to show his girlfiend the sea without realising he’d be putting his vehicle at risk,” the beach warden told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
