Burnham-On-Sea Camera Club displays 200 photos at 10th exhibition

-

Over 230 photographs went on show at Burnham-On-Sea Camera Club’s tenth annual exhibition on Saturday (July 21st).

The group held its popular photography exhibition at Burnham-On-Sea’s Methodist Church in College Street, featuring a wide range of photographs from over 20 members.

The club’s Chairman, Phil Thorne, said: “We had over 140 visitors during the day to see 231 images from 26 exhibitors – it was a very successful exhibition, which was aided by the running of the parallel event of the Hospice coffee morning volunteers in the Methodist Church Hall.”

Burnham RNLI’s operations manager Matt Davies opened the event and any money raised through the day went to the charity.

The exhibition raised £110 for the RNLI by way of a raffle, donations, and the sale of cupcakes.

Best in show was Kearney, 2nd place was Tim Donovan and 3rd place was Paul Calcutt.

The Camera club is now in its 10th year and accommodates a members’ pool of all skill levels, ranging from absolute beginners to experts specialising in their respective fields.

It meets on Tuesday nights (from 7pm until 9pm) at Burnham Area Youth Centre in Cassis Close, Burnham-On-Sea (TA8 1NN). Visitors are always welcome to pop in on club evenings. Regular competitions, organised trips, days out, and guest speakers are a feature of the club.
