Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Year 12 students from King Alfred School Sixth Form have enjoyed a two day residential visit to the University of Cambridge.
In preparation for making competitive applications to the UK’s leading universities, the students enjoyed masterclasses in their chosen subjects before receiving top tips from admissions staff.
Jonathan Gaskell, Head of Sixth Form, said: “Dining with university students at Trinity Hall College, the students soaked up the atmosphere before overnighting in very smart ensuite college accommodation.”
“On the final morning, the students enjoyed a tour of Cambridge including a visit to the world famous King’s College Chapel before taking their pick of colleges to explore.”
“While many loved the Darwin Gardens at Christ’s College a lucky few were moved almost to tears during an impromptu visit to the chapel at Corpus Christi College where an opera singer was rehearsing.”
“With horizons broadened, the students are now buzzing with thoughts of pastures new and the many opportunities that a first-class university education brings.”
