A classic battery-powered tricycle from the 1980s was among the bikes that Burnham-On-Sea police were asked to mark during a security marking event held on Wednesday (August 18th).
The Sinclair C5 pictured here was brought to the event at Apex Park – much to the surprise of police and the interest of passers-by!
PCSO Claire Chambers from Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were really pleased with the turn-out at the event and security marked a total of 15 bikes. We were even asked to mark a Sinclair C5!”
The C5, which is owned by a Highbridge resident, was marked underneath by Claire and fellow PCSO Eliot Green.
Claire added: “Having bikes security marked is a good deterrent to potential thieves. We hold monthly bike marking sessions to continue our aim of reducing and preventing pedal cycle theft.”
The C5 is a tricycle invented by entrepreneur Sir Clive Sinclair that was launched in January 1985. It’s steered by a handlebar beneath the driver’s knees.
