Visitors to Burnham-On-Sea town centre are being challenged to find 12 butterflies hidden in shop windows as part of a unique competition.
Fibromyalgia Heart of Support Somerset Support Group has organised the shop window contest as part of an awareness-raising campaign.
Sam Everiss, from the group, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have asked 12 shops in the town to display a butterfly with a letter on it, the letters spelling out ‘fibromyalgia’.”
“We are asking people to note down which shops are displaying which lettered butterfly and then to bring it along on Monday 8th May to Burnham Baptist Church between 4-8pm to collect a prize.”
“This is a free awareness event to mark International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.”
“We would like to encourage everyone to have a go at the trail for a bit of a challenge and fun, and everyone is welcome to come along and learn a little more about Fibromyalgia!”
“There will be refreshments, cake and nibbles and lots of information displayed about Fibromyalgia.”
The support group is based at Burnham-On-Sea’s Somerset Skills and Learning Centre in Princess Street and meets every Monday (except Bank Holidays) from 1.30-3.30pm.
