Busy opening day for new Burnham-On-Sea bakery shop is a sell-out success

-

The owners of a new Burnham-On-Sea bakery shop – which was opened on Thursday (April 17th) by Highbridge baker Maisey’s – have thanked customers for a “very busy” opening day.

Maisey’s Bakery Owners Naomi and Ben Hambidge, pictured, have taken over the premises previously occupied by The Crusty Cob in Burnham High Street, which shut down in March, as reported here.

Naomi told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a very busy opening day and were delighted to welcome many new customers. In fact, it was so busy that we sold out on our first day!”

The store sells many of the popular bread, cakes, and freshly baked products sold in its long-running Highbridge shop.

The opening hours of the new shop will be 8.30am-4pm Monday to Saturday and then 9.30am-3pm on summer Sundays.  The new Burnham shop will be open on Easter Sunday. It will now be closed on Bank Holiday Monday to be fully stocked.

Maisey’s was established in 1885 and has been trading in Highbridge’s Market Street since 1980. It is well known for its freshly baked bread and bread rolls, all baked on the premises, plus wide selection of freshly made cakes, buns, pies and pasties.
