Two Burnham-On-Sea businesses are celebrating this week after winning awards for being the best in Somerset.
Calm, an organic coffee bar in Burnham’s High Street, has won the title of Best Café in Somerset in the prestigious Muddy Stilettos awards.
Jane Lambert, who runs Burnham’s Gemini Tae Kwon-Do group, has also won the title of Somerset’s Best Fitness Instructor in the same awards.
Calm owner Tiffany Louise Lin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ve been trading for less than a year and so to get recognised in this way at such an early stage is wonderful and to have a double success in Burnham is fantastic! My thanks go to everyone who voted for us.”
“My passion has always been organic food, I want to feed people good quality food and help make them feel good.”
Jane Lambert told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I am very excited to be receiving the recognition for what I do. It’s a huge honour to have been chosen over some strong competition and I thank everyone who voted for me. I take pride in researching new understanding in my sport and training methods to ensure I offer the very best for my students.”
Gemini holds classes at King Alfred School in Highbridge on Tuesday and Thursday evenings when men, women and children of all abilities are welcome.
Burnham’s Town Centre Manager Bev Milner-Simonds said: “As Town Centre Manager I nominated a lot of business in Burnham for these awards and it was great to see two local businesses not only make the short-list, but very deservedly win. Many congratulations go to Tiff and Jane.”
The awards will be given out at an awards ceremony in Taunton this Friday. “The Muddy Stilettos have been running since 2012 and are all about quality and curation, so to win a Muddy Award is a real achievement, and importantly gives often-overlooked lifestyle businesses a much-needed platform from which to grow,” said a spokesman.
