These were the scenes in Highbridge on Thursday afternoon (August 21st) as fire crews tackled a bus fire in the centre of the town.
A Burnham fire engine was called to the bus stop outside The George Hotel in Church Street at 4.11pm after a report of smoke emerging from underneath the bonnet of a bus.
Fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “One fire engine was mobilised to this incident, which was a small fire in the engine bay of a bus.”
“It was caused by an electrical short circuit.”
He added: “It resulted in 5% damage by fire and heat to the engine compartment and was extinguished with one hose reel jet.”
