Burnham-On-Sea firefighters were called out on Sunday afternoon (December 10th) to tackle a property blaze in Burtle.
Crews were called to Catcott Broad Drove in Burtle at 1.51pm after reports of a fire in a house’s bathroom.
Fire appliances from Glastonbury, Street and Burnham-On-Sea attended the scene during a period of snowfall, as pictured here.
“On arrival crews located a fire involving a shower on the first floor of a domestic property,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Crews got to work with two breathing apparatus, a hose reel, one attack jet, a covering jet and a thermal imaging camera.”
“The breathing apparatus users were quickly increased to six as crews located hotspots within the cavity wall.”
“Crews worked to expose the shower and cavity wall to extinguish the fire.”
“The shower was destroyed by fire with the bathroom being damaged by smoke.”
Crews used a positive-pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the home.
