Kilts, bagpipes and haggis were the order of the day when members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Avenue Tennis Club celebrated Burns Night at the weekend.
The popular event attracted dozens of people to the club for an evening of traditional Scottish entertainment.
Head Coach Vinny Duddy told Burnham-On-Sea.com the event had been a “great success.”
He said it was the first event of 2010 masterminded by Social Chairperson Julie Cameron. As well as organising the evening, Julie and other members Lynn O Dell and Jane Sanders cooked and served up some excellent food with the main course being Haggis, Mash Potato and Swede followed by Typsy Laird.
Meanwhile, the Avenue Tennis Club is offering new members the opportunity to join the tennis club and get 14 months membership for the price of 12. More details are available from membership secretary Di Dimond on 07979 227866.
