Burnham Police issue new appeal after discovery of ‘cannabis factory’ at former bar

-

Police have issued a fresh appeal for information as they continue to investigate the discovery of a suspected cannabis factory inside a former bar on Burnham-On-Sea seafront.

The photo above shows what Police found inside the property – 150 plant pots that Police believe were used to cultivate cannabis.

As Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported, officers made the discovery after being called to the former Vinnie’s Bar on The Esplanade on June 5th.

A Police spokeswoman confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “Officers found more than 150 plant pots believed to have been used to grow cannabis but fewer than a dozen plants remained. Enquiries are continuing.”

Anyone with information should contact officers on 101, quoting reference 5219125656.

It comes after Police were called at around 9.30pm on June 5th to reports of ‘suspicious activity’ at the unused commercial property.

Several teams of forensic officers were seen working at the rear of the premises, gathering evidence. Plant cultivation equipment was seized from inside.

Anyone with information should contact Police on 101.
