Burnham-On-Sea’s Nationwide Building Society branch unveils major refurbishment

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s last remaining building society offering banking services has been given a fresh lease of life following a major refurbishment.

The upgraded Nationwide Building Society branch in Burnham-On-Sea High Street has been officially opened by Ashley Fox MP, who welcomed the investment as a vital step in ensuring financial services remain available for residents.

As Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here, Nationwide has committed to maintaining a physical presence wherever it has a branch until at least the start of 2028.

While digital banking continues to grow, Nationwide says it recognises the importance of in-person services, particularly for those who rely on face-to-face banking for reassurance and support.

Burnham’s MP Ashley Fox says: “With the closure of many high street bank branches, it is encouraging to see Nationwide standing by its commitment to provide in-person banking.”

“This branch is the last remaining one in Burnham-on-Sea, and its continued presence is essential for residents, especially those who prefer or need access to face-to-face services. I welcome this investment in our community and the reassurance it brings to local customers.”

The newly refurbished branch not only offers modern banking facilities but also continues to provide personalised support for customers, including those who may be vulnerable or require additional assistance.

The branch in the High Street is the town’s last remaining banking facility after Lloyds shut down its Burnham-On-Sea branch in November.
