Burnham-On-Sea’s Bridge Club is seeking members to join its twice-weekly sessions

Burnham-On-Sea’s Bridge Club is seeking members to join its twice-weekly friendly sessions in the town.

The group meets for three hours on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons at Burnham’s Avenue Tennis Club when newcomers are welcome.

Member John Thatcher says: “It is a nice friendly group and we have a lot of fun as well as exercising our minds playing Bridge – Duplicate on Tuesdays and Rubber on Wednesdays.”

“At 66 years old, I am the youngest member person in the group; all the members are retired, however all of us are young at heart!”

“Our main problem is maintaining a large enough membership to keep the club
viable and recruiting new members is difficult.”

Those playing enjoy an afternoon’s bridge for the price of a cup of coffee. They play three hours of friendly bridge in the afternoon at the comfortable Avenue Tennis Club with tea and coffee plus a biscuit or cake at half-time. For more, call Tom Morey on 01278-787884.
