A Burnham-On-Sea Swim and Sports Academy fitness and swimming instructor is celebrating after winning a top triathlon competition.
Jeannie Fry has become European Triathlon Champion after competing in the 2019 Almere-Amsterdam ETU Challenge Age Group Long Distance Triathlon European Championships at the weekend.
The gruelling event consisted of a 3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42.2km run, and took Jeannie just 11 hours and 35 mins to complete.
“In doing so, she took first place at the Championships,” said Sara Conklin Cox from the Academy in Berrow Road, Burnham-On-Sea.
“Huge congratulations go to our amazing fitness and swim instructor Jeannie! A phenomenal achievement.”
Jeannie now holds the title of Long Distance European Age Group Triathlon Champion.
