Burnham-On-Sea Sea Cadets named as Mayor’s charity of the year during visit

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor has announced that the town’s Sea Cadets will be his formal charity of the year for the year ahead.

Mayor Cllr Andy Brewer and Mayoress Lorna Brewer made the announcement during a visit to the cadets at their HQ in Cassis Close, Burnham-On-Sea.

Cllr Brewer said afterwards: “We were encouraged to see number of cadets attending and to witness their enthusiasm. It was an honour to be involved with the parade inspection and we were very impressed with the high standards maintained throughout the unit.”

“It was a privilege to be able to assist with the presentation of awards achieved by so many of the cadets and it was encouraging to hear how they have progressed within the unit.”

“We are very pleased to be able to support TS Dulverton as the Mayor’s charity for this year and trust we can help with fundraising towards the planned building improvements and that this will be a further encouragement to the cadets as well as your team of officers and volunteers.”
