A Burnham-On-Sea runner has completed his 70th half marathon this month — and his charity total now exceeds £26,700.
Jason Vickers completed the Landmarks Half Marathon in London at the weekend in a time of three hours, six minutes and 20 seconds.
“It was a superb event – I was among 15,000 runners who ran around some of the landmarks of London including Pall Mall, the Tower of London, the London Eye and Westminster,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“It was lovely to receive my finisher’s medal from a Chelsea pensioner at the end.”
Thanks to the support of local people, Jason, who works at Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco supermarket, has raised a huge total of £26,761 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Jason, who suffers from Crohn’s Disease, added: “I really enjoyed taking part, and seeing the sights of London. There was lots of cheering and support along the route.”
