Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club has raised hundreds of pounds towards the cost of buying vital ‘Water Survival Boxes’ for overseas areas of need.
The Burnham club has recently spent time at Sanders Garden Centre in Brent Knoll collecting funds to buy the kits.
Each ‘Water Survival Box’ costs £150 including air freight costs.
“These boxes contain filtration systems to provide clean drinking water for up to 6 months,” explains Burnham Rotary President Keith Gough.
“They also contain cooking, hygine and equipment to provide basic shelter as well.”
”Over the two days, we managed to collect enough to buy two boxes.”
“The Rotary Club would like to thank Sanders Garden Centre, their staff for allowing us to collect and making us welcome, plus all who donated.”
