Burnham-On-Sea RNLI lifeboat station is set to hold its open day this Saturday (3rd August).
Taking place between 10am and 3pm, the event will be held at the station in Burnham’s Old Station Approach.
Visitors will be able to see the life-saving equipment up close, including lifeboats and tractors that are in regular use and also meet the crew.
Admission to the station will be free of charge. On duty will be RNLI ambassador Jared with his RNLI campervan. Visitors will also be able to talk to the crew, and fundraisers.
Other activities will include face-painting, ‘soak a crewmember’ in the stocks with wet sponges, throwline games, and a visit from RNLI mascot Stormy Stan and an inflatable Shannon lifeboat.
Event co-organiser Paul Preston said: “Bring your kids and take a photo of them with Stormy Stan, or our inflatable Shannon lifeboat. We are a family station, and are in tune with what keeps children amused.”
