Appeal for witnesses after ‘suspicious’ car fire in Berrow

Police have launched an investigation into a car fire in Berrow on Friday evening (July 12th) that is being treated as ‘suspicious’.

A crew from Burnham-On-Sea fire station was called to the Rover car in flames in Hurn Lane, Berrow, just after 6.15pm.

The vehicle was severely damaged in the blaze, as pictured here.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus wearers and one hose reel jet.”

“Police were called due to the suspicious nature of the fire.”
