Burnham-On-Sea Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a man was hurt in a collision with an electric scooter earlier this week.
The incident took place on Wednesday 29th September along the pavement opposite the Esso petrol station near to Apex Park.
A Police spokesman says: “We’ve received a report about a collision between an electric scooter and a pedestrian which occurred at around 7.30am on Wednesday on Burnham Road.”
“The collision took place on the pavement and the pedestrian, a man in his 80s, suffered minor injuries.”
“The e-scooter rider failed to stop following the collision. We’d ask anyone with information about this incident to contact Police on 101, quoting reference 5221226726.”
The elderly pedestrian, who is a local resident, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I was walking along the pavement when the e-scooter came into me from behind without warning.”
“I fell onto the pavement and have suffered bruising and pain in my left leg, shoulder and face – I also have a black eye.”
“Fortunately, a nearby person saw me on the ground and helped me back home, but I am keen to warn other people in the area to keep an eye out for this.”
