Burnham-On-Sea Moose Lodge has presented over £4,300 to local community groups following a busy year of fundraising.
The club has held its annual presentation evening where a total of £4,361 was handed over to local charity groups and good causes.
“Money is raised by running social events throughout the year, including race nights, a harvest supper, a Burns night, and various other events,” says a spokesman.
“Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance received £2,201.66, gathered during collection days at various supermarkets throughout the year.”
Burnham RNLI, the lodge President Rita Harris’s nominated charity for the year, received £1,161.75, gathered by running ticketed events, among members and guests.
Other recipients were Reach Opportunity Centre of Weare who received £250, presented by the Moose Lodge’s Terry Cornelius.
Childrens’ Hospice South West was presented by June and Terry with £250, while The Waffle Hub was presented with £250 by Margaret Jeffries. Freewheelers Blood Bikes was also presented by Khallil and Julia Kattana with £250.
“Two weeks ago, at the closing down of the Burnham Moose Ladies’ Circle, almost £4,000 was presented. This means that Burnham-on-Sea Moose International this year have donated over £8,000.”
