Burnham-On-Sea’s Moose International Lodge has appointed new officers for the coming year as part of its annual changeover and presented donations to two local charities.
Burnham-On-Sea President Rita Harris, by popular acclaim, extended her role for another 12 months during the lodge’s traditional ceremony which also saw several key changes as part of the adoption of its ‘One Moose’ approach.
“Firstly, the title of Lodge Leader has, in recent years, changed from Governor to President, and secondly, Rita was the first female to lead the lodge since its formation in the 1930’s.”
“The changeover ceremony was conducted with by Moose member Margaret Jefferies. Officers for the coming year are: President Rita Harris, Vice President Khalil Katana, Junior Vice President Terry Cornelius, Secretary Jenny Dolan and Treasurer Gareth Griffith.”
“Followed the changeover ceremony, two donations of £250 were presented to local good causes, representatives of which were unable to attend the previous monthly meeting: Music for the Memory, and Somewhere House.”
