Members of Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club have given a Toddlers Group at the town’s Baptist Church a £150 boost towards new equipment this week.
The Lions donation is enabling the group to buy much-needed new equipment including several trikes and a wooden play kitchen with pots and pans.
Jenny Williams, leader of the group, thanked the Lions and told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are so grateful for this wonderful donation. It means a lot to us. The trikes and kitchen will be played by not only the current children and their families and carers, but by many more children in the years to come.”
The group is run solely by volunteers from Burnham Baptist Church and is a valuable facility that allows many families to gather and let their children play in a safe environment.
The toddlers group runs every Wednesday between 9:30am and 11:30am during term-time. The Baby and Toddler Group is a great chance for children to play, do crafting and eat snacks in a safe and relaxed environment as well as for the adults to forge lasting friendships. Everyone is welcome. Suggested donation of £1 per child per week.
