Burnham-On-Sea pub fundraisers hand £1,220 to air ambulance

-

A bumper cheque has been presented to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance this week with the proceeds of a fundraising event at the Lighthouse Pub in Burnham-On-Sea.

A family fun day and music event was held earlier this month for the air ambulance charity, raising an impressive £1,220.

The cheque was presented to the Air Ambulance fundraisers on Tuesday (August 27th) during a handover at The Lighthouse pub.

Joint fundraiser Rob Coombes said: “I want to  thank everyone for their support, and help with running the event during the day.”

Air ambulance fundraiser Anita Townsend added: “Thank you for this cheque. This is our 19th year of operation, and our third air ambulance. We fly for approximately 19 hours a day in double shifts.  Each lift costs approximately £3,000 and operating the service costs approximately 4 million pounds per year so this is much appreciated.”
