Burnham-On-Sea firefighters tackle ‘deliberate’ van blaze in Rooksbridge

Burnham-On-Sea firefighters tackled a van blaze in Rooksbridge on Tuesday (November 9th) which is believed to have been set deliberately.

Crews were called to the van at 2.02pm following reports of the vehicle in flames.

A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our fire control immediately mobilised one fire appliance from Burnham-On-Sea.”

“Once in attendance crews confirmed 1 van well alight and got to work to extinguish the fire.”

“Crews successfully extinguished the fire using Breathing Apparatus, a Hose Reel Jet and a Thermal Imaging Camera.”

“The van was 80% damaged by fire and 10 metres of fencing in the surrounding area was also damaged due to fire spread.”

“This incident was left in the hands of the Police as crews believe this to be deliberate ignition.”
