Fresh warning after Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackle ‘out of control’ Berrow bonfire

-

Burnham-On-Sea residents have been given a fresh reminder by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service to consider composting their garden waste instead of lighting bonfires during the Coronavirus outbreak after an incident in Berrow on Easter Monday.

The service issued the guidance amid “additional pressures and challenges since the virus outbreak,” as initially featured here.

Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called out just after 2.30pm on Monday to tackle a bonfire which had reportedly spread out of control, as pictured here.

“Two fire engines from Burnham-On-Sea were mobilised to the incident,” said a spokesman.

“Once the crews arrived they got to work using a triple extension ladder, 2 main jets and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.”
