Burnham-On-Sea fire crews rescue motorist from overturned car in ditch

A motorist was taken to hospital after her car left the road and ended up on its side in a ditch near Burnham-On-Sea this week.

Fire crews from Burnham, Bridgwater and Taunton were sent to Wick Road in Lympsham on Monday morning (March 25th).

A fire spokesman said: “Fire engines from Burnham and Bridgwater, along with a rescue vehicle from Taunton, were sent to a report of a vehicle stuck in a ditch on its side with someone still inside it unable to get out.”

“Fire crews worked with the ambulance service and Police to release the person and left them in the care of paramedics.”

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust added: “We were called at just after 9am to Wick Road, Lympsham to a road traffic collision where a car had rolled over. Paramedics treated a female patient on scene and took her onto hospital for further treatment.”
