Burnham-On-Sea fire crews called to tackle accidental shed blaze in village of Mark

-

Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackled a shed fire in the village of Mark near Burnham on Saturday afternoon (September 21st).

Firefighters from Burnham-On-Sea Fire Station, Glastonbury and Bridgwater rushed to Little Moor Road in Mark at 1.35pm.

A spokesman for Burnham-On-Sea Fire Station said: “Crews were called to a report of a fire involving what was believed to be an agricultural building. Fire Control sent two Fire Engines from Burnham-On-Sea, one Fire Engine from Glastonbury and the Water Carrier from Bridgwater.”

“Once the crew got in attendance the officer in charge confirmed this was a single-storey shed well alight. The crew got to work with the use of a compressed air foam system and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.”

“The crew fully extinguished the fire and made the area safe. The shed was 100% damaged by fire and a lean-to adjacent to the shed was 10% damaged by fire.”

This fire was believed to have been started by accidental ignition.
