Burnham-On-Sea fire crews have said a blaze that destroyed a stable is believed to have been started accidentally.
It comes after crews were called to Crooked Lane in Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday (September 26th) just before 2pm.
“The Fire Service wa scalled to a report of a fire in a field which was believed to be a wild fire,” said a spokesman.
“One appliance from Burnham-On-Sea attended and the officer in charge confirmed the fire was in a single storey block of stables well alight.”
“The officer in charge requested a second appliance which was sent from Bridgwater. The crews got to work with the use of a compressed air foam system and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire”
“The crews fully extinguished the fire and made the area safe. The stable was 100% damaged by fire and a second adjacent stable was prevented from becoming involved.”
“This fire is believed to be accidental ignition.”
