Burnham-On-Sea fire crew tackles car blaze on M5 motorway slip road

Burnham-On-Sea firefighters were called to tackle a car fire on the M5 on Sunday morning (July 14th).

Crews were called at 9.28am to the slip road at junction 23 for Bridgwater.

A spokesman said: “We were called to a car on fire. One crew Burnham and one crew from Bridgwater attended.”

“The crews used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire that caused eighty percent damage to the vehicle.”

Separately, crews were also called to check on a vehicle that had suffered a fuel leak at the entrance to Brean beach.
