Coffees and cakes helped to raise funds for a local breast cancer charity in Burnham-On-Sea at the weekend.
Somerset Breast Cancer Now held a successful coffee morning at the town’s Baptist Church on Saturday morning (November 3rd).
Organiser Holly MacBeth told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A very huge thank you to all those who came down and supported our coffee morning and to our lovely friends who donated cakes to sell too.”
“We made £161, so thank you very much! It was so lovely to see so many faces & local support as always! Also a huge thanks to Lowe’s Barber Shop for their kind donation when we sent the girls off into town to sell cakes.”
“Sarah Sutton and the team also collected recently at Boots in Burnham who kindly had our collection tins in October and collected £52.50, and a further thank you to Claire Nicholls and the team at the Mulberry Centre in Berrow who held a ‘Pink Day’ and raised £75!”
Burnham-On-Sea author Ann Poole is also pictured donating copies of her latest children’s book to the charity.
The books will be on sale at the charity’s ‘Shop For A Cure For Christmas’ event on Sunday 18th November from 10.30am-2pm at Berrow Village Hall when lots of crafts and festive gifts will be on sale in aid of Breast Cancer Now.
