Burnham-On-Sea’s annual Light Up A Life service will be held in the town’s St Andrew’s Church this evening (Monday).
The traditional service allows churchgoers to celebrate the life of loved ones and is being organised with St Margaret’s Hospice, which holds several of the services across Somerset during the festive period.
“Christmas can be a difficult time when someone we love has died and is missing from the celebrations,” said Reverend Sharon Eldergill.
“Light up a Life is a special service with carols, prayers and readings. There is an opportunity to light a candle in remembrance of those we love but no longer see, and to write their name on a memorial star.”
The service takes place at 7pm in St Andrew’s Church, and everyone is warmly welcome. A retiring collection will be taken for the work of St Margaret’s Hospice.
