A temporary charity book shop in Burnham-On-Sea town centre has raised over £1,400 for local good causes.
Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club ran its annual book store over the summer months from a unit in Burnham Shopping Centre in the High Street.
Spokesman George Moon says: “The Rotary Charity Bookshop has now closed. Despite some uncertainties arising from the effects of the pandemic, it raised some £1,400 to benefit local charities and good causes.”
“The Club extends its gratitude to the owners of the Shopping Centre for the use of the premises and to everyone who came to donate or purchase books.”
The club’s popular charity book shops, which are run by the club’s volunteers, have been held in the town centre for many summers, raising thousands for charity.
The club’s secretary, Jenny Eaton, pictured, said the shop received positive feedback from shoppers over the season.
