Hundreds of people have headed to Burnham-On-Sea beach to enjoy the fresh air on the first day of 2019.
Large numbers of people walked along the sands, taking full advantage of the dry weather to stretch their legs and walk dogs.
A chilly northerly breeze added some wind chill with temperatures feeling more like 5°c.
Burnham-On-Sea beach was busier than usual, and there were similar scenes at Brean and Berrow.
