Burnham-On-Sea Avenue Tennis Club starts new tennis programme for kids

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Avenue Tennis Club is set to launch a new tennis programme this month for local children.

The Avenue Tennis Club has partnered with Performance Plus Sport (PPS) to provide a tennis programme providing two hours of funded tennis coaching, in 3 x 6 week blocks throughout the 2018 – 19 school year.

It will be managed by Tennis Club Manager Barry Ramsden, with the coaching provided by the Avenue’s qualified coaches.

“The goal is to support young local children and create opportunities for regular tennis at the Avenue Tennis Club,” said Barry.

“The coaching is free of charge and will re-start on Monday 25th February from 5-6pm and on Tuesday 26th February.”

“We would like to encourage all children to come along to either of the evenings but as with last time we are hoping to encourage players up to 9 years old to the Monday session and players over 9 to the Tuesday evening session. All equipment is supplied by the club.”

If you think your child would be interested in attending the second 6-week block of tennis coaching course then contact Barry at the Avenue Tennis Club on 01278 782758 or 07749 878581 or visit http://www.avenuetennis.com.

Performance Plus Sport is a charity that was founded and is ran by father and son, John and James Feaver, both of whom were professional tennis players.

Both have strong links to Avenue Tennis Club and are passionate about supporting the club and encouraging more participation in sport for young sportspeople.
