Burnham-On-Sea artist and Rotary president Jimmy Lynch is holding an art exhibition and sale in Burnham-On-Sea over the Easter Weekend.
The exhibition at 9 Trinity Rise in Burnham will be open 12pm-4pm on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th April. Entry will be free and visitors will be able to enjoy a glass of fizz and nibbles whilst browsing the paintings.
Works by both Jimmy and some of the late Chris Woodberry’s collection will be for sale, along with greetings cards, and prints of Jimmy’s original art work.
Proceeds will be shared between Burnham-On-Sea Rotary club and Petal: The Christine Woodbury Foundation Trust.
Jimmy says: “After working for three years as a contractor in Iraq, I moved to Highbridge. I took up oil painting and drawing as an escape and to deal with some of stresses working in war zone had brought.”
“I discovered I loved art and began to develop my skills and style further. I am completely self taught but joined a group at Create You in Highbridge to work alongside other like minded artists.”
“After becoming President of Rotary in Burnham, I thought I would put on an art exhibition. After discussing this with Scott Woodberry, he suggested that he would like to sell some of his father’s personal art collection, with the proceeds going to Rotary and Petal The Christine Woodberry Foundation Trust, the Charity set up in his mothers name after her death of cancer.”
