Burnham-On-Sea artist creates a buzz with new art installation featuring cloud of bees

-

Burnham-On-Sea artist Sami Green has created a buzz with a new art installation featuring a cloud of bees in flight.

Called ‘Swarm’, it has been created with the support of local people from community groups in the Bridgwater area and includes educational nature information about bees.

The new Pop-Up Exhibition is underway at Angel Place shopping centre in Bridgwater from April 24th-26th from 10am-5pm to be followed by an exhibition at The Bridgy Art Gallery from 13th September-16th October.

“There will be music and lots of information about how to look after pollinators in your garden and spot them in your local area,” she says.

“Whether you’re an art enthusiast or just looking for a fun trip, there’s something for everyone at Swarm.”

“Bring your friends and family along to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and enjoy your artwork, made at the workshops, or support our talented community of artist contributors.”

They will also be on display during a series of art workshops over the summer, with more details to follow here.

Sami – who created a huge display of 500 butterflies in Highbridge in 2022 – says: “Come join us at The Bridgy Art Gallery for two final fun-filled bumblebee-making workshops! Get creative and learn how to craft your very own adorable bumblebee using recycled fur fabric.”

“This in-person event is perfect for ages 6+ and skill levels — and if you are not good at cutting out, team up with someone who can help. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of this fabulous second exhibition, meet the artist, learn about how you could save the bees, and hang your work in the swarm.”
