A Burnham-On-Sea artist’s unique exhibition of her work is underway in the town’s Princess Theatre this month.
Local business owner Jacqui Gardiner-White is displaying her binary art work, alongside her striking oil paintings, in the theatre’s Arts Lounge from 19th March until 13th April.
Talking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, Jacqui – or Jax is she’s known to friends – said: “My binary art consists is very different – it consists of wild animals oil painted on top of screens printed with binary numbers. It represents their DNA and the animals’ backgrounds.”
Jax, who has been painting for over 40 years and has a national diploma in Graphic Design, says she paints for relaxation away from her role running Gardiner-Whites greengrocery shop in Burnham-On-Sea High Street.
“I love running the shop but it’s important to relax too – and art is a perfect way for me to escape and unwind. I go into my own zone when painting and love it.”
Jax, who says her work has previously been on display in several art galleries in Weymouth and the local area, adds: “I am excited to share my latest creations with our local community here in Burnham.”
“My latest work was imagined several years back whilst working in the IT industry. I sold several binary pieces through a gallery in Weymouth however I have not recreated this unique style of painting since.”
The exhibition is underway from 19th March to 13th April in The Princess Theatre & Arts Lounge. It’s open from Tuesday to Friday 10am-3pm; and Saturdays from 10am-1pm.
