A young Burnham-On-Sea apprentice barber has won a top award for his “exceptional” work.

George Goodall, 17, is an apprentice barber studying at Bridgwater & Taunton College, who has won the college’s award for first place as Somerset’s Level 3 Barber of the Year 2019.

The Bridgwater & Taunton College Barber Bash 2019 was held in February at the Macmillan Theatre in Bridgwater where students and industry barbers competed against each other for top honours.

George is an apprentice at Lowe’s Barber Shop in Burnham-On-Sea High Street and owner Mike Lowe said: “We are extremely proud of George for winning this award, his entry was a great example of his craftsmanship!”

A Bridgwater & Taunton College spokesman has congratulated George, adding that his work is of an “exceptional standard”.

George said: “I’m very grateful to have been chosen to receive this award, and would like to thank everyone who supported me, and my model for the evening, Zenon.”

Zenon’s hair style, which was produced at the awards, is pictured below.
