The judges of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge’s annual Christmas lights competition have issued a final call for entries this week.
The Town Council is encouraging residents and businesses to light up over the festive season.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the best displays for best individual residence in Burnham and Highbridge.
There will also be a prize for the best business windows in Burnham or Highbridge, judged by the two Chambers of Trade.
The Town Council has invited Private Residences to enter this year’s Christmas Light Competition. Only private residences and businesses that have entered will be judged. Please call 01278 788088 or email: admin@burnham-highbridge-tc.gov.uk to enter.

Burnham-On-Sea
Best Individual = £25, a cup and a certificate Runner up = £10 and a certificate
Best Shared Entry = a shared shield and certificates
Highbridge
Best Individual = £25, a cup and a certificate Runner up = £10 and a certificate
Best Shared Entry = a shared shield and certificates
Business Window in Highbridge (no need to register entry)
Best = £20, a cup and a certificate
Runner up = £10, and a certificate
Business Window in Burnham-On-Sea (no need to register entry)
Best = £20, a cup and a certificate
Runner up = £10, and a certificate
In keeping with the Town Council’s intention to become a Plastic Free Community, the business window judges will be looking for displays which avoid plastics and use natural materials instead where possible.
The cups and shields will be engraved and held for a year, to be returned. The closing date for entries is Friday 7 December 2018 at 4pm. Judging will take place on Monday 10 December 2018. This year’s prizes will be presented at the Town Council on meeting Monday 17th December 2018.
