Police were called to a disturbance at Burnham-On-Sea Holiday Village over the weekend that led to a group of ten holidaymakers being ‘removed from the site’ by bosses.
Officers were called to the drunken incident on Saturday (March 16th) that led to the Haven holiday park closing its bars and restaurant for much of the evening.
Talking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, Manager Lowery Arbury confirmed: “There was an incident with some guests who were staying at Burnham Holiday Village that required Police assistance. They were removed from the site on Sunday morning.”
He confirmed: “Nobody was hurt and there was a small amount of damage.”
“The decision was taken that it would be a good idea in the interests of safety for our team, guests and holidaymakers that no alcohol was sold. We take safety very seriously.”
The same group of ten people are also understood to have caused problems in several local pubs in Burnham-On-Sea during Saturday evening.
A Police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to reports of a disturbance in the car park of Burnham Holiday Village in Marine Drive, at about 4pm on Saturday. Shortly afterwards a man was arrested and was subsequently charged.”
A 26 year-old from Reading was charged “with using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear” and appeared at Taunton Magistrates Court on Monday.
